This is a treatment which darkens the wood. Depending on the length of the process it is possible to create a wide range of colours, from very light, beige tones to completely dark, almost black. During this treatment, the mechanical properties of the wood are not lost, nor is there any scrap waste. In this way, it is possible to hide wood defects that occur, for example discoloration (yellowing, bluish wood, etc.).
This process involves changing the color of the wood not only on the surface, but also in its interior. Wood products that undergo this treatment can be sanded and shaped without losing the resulting colour. For example, in the case of parquet, when it might become damaged or scratched after a while, the colour will not change when sanding it.
